Château de Tracy 2013 Pouilly Fumé
Returning home cold and invigorated, we stirred the fire and cooked ourselves a fish soup. The bottle I opened with it, a Pouilly-Fumé that had been sent to me the week before for tasting, had big herbaceous sauvignon blanc aromas with that common hint of cat’s piss. It might sound off-putting, but such a citrus-tangy and zesty wine works well with fish, especially a dish with plenty of ooomph like a Provence-based soup. It would also go well with poultry.
